The Tall Ships Races -Hartlepool 2010, one of RDW’s major projects last year, scooped the gold award for best event at the North East of England Tourism Awards last week! As a result, it was also entered into the Visit England National Finals in April 2012. The judges said, "Tall Ships Races, Hartlepool – visually breathtaking as an event and showed how a destination can punch above its weight, create pride in the area and generate an ongoing legacy for the visitor economy."
